little bit naive -- always assuming the
best of others and incredibly positive.
He's stubborn and curious, always looking
to learn more about the world around him.
He genuinely likes to help and care for
others, feeling his best when he knows
he's being useful. Protective of his
friends and family.
Damien's biggest flaw
is that he has a quick temper that can
quickly and easily flare out of control
when things go wrong or he sees people
being hurt -- especially when there's no
way for him to help them.

would like to go to college but he isn't
sure what he wants his major to be so
right now, he's kind of just getting by
and saving up whatever money he can...

Backstory:
Damien
was born in a small town in the Appalachian
mountains of Tennessee -- his parents were young,
only in their late teens and not at all ready to
strike out on their own or be parents. His father
disappeared from his life while his mother was
pregnant and his mother ran off to Nashville when
he was three, leaving him with his grandmother.
Growing up, Damien was a smart and sensitive kid
-- though unlike a lot of smart, sensitive kids,
he was also incredibly loud, friendly and
adventurous. He made friends with pretty much
everyone he met and was always eager to help.
This did create problems with kids who were less
liked by the local adults and kids who were less
liked than other kids. Having some anger issues,
Damien ended up getting into a lot of fights with
those kids but his generally cheerful nature and
kindness kept him from ever getting into too much
trouble with the locals... As did his
grandmother's place in the town.
Because Kat Brooks (later, Granny Brooks) was
well known in town and something of an
influential citizen, Damien got out of any
trouble with actual "authorities" that
he might've encountered and his grandmother
always encouraged him to stand up for himself and
not let anyone tell him who or what to be. He
figured out really early (like, at five) what
gender he was and doesn't have a lot of hang ups
about it and his grandmother let him
dress/present how he wanted from the get-go. This
doesn't mean he hasn't had problems related to
it, but they're not the crux of his character and
identity/background.
After finishing highschool, Damien came to the
conclusion that -- like his grandmother had once
done, he wanted to get out of his tiny hometown.
As much as he loved it, he knew that he needed to
spend time somewhere else, if only to get other
experiences under his belt. Since moving to
Pittsburgh, things have been pretty stable for
him.
