Age: 24 Personality:
Louis is a good-hearted, if somewhat
mischevious, person. While he's not unintelligent, Louis
tends to let others think that he's nothing more than a
stupid playboy or hopelessly romantic artist. He has a
strong sense of right and wrong and cares deeply about
the lives and feelings of others -- he hates to see
anyone suffer, if he can avoid it. History: Louis was born in one of the suburbs of Montreal in the Quebec province of Canada to Jonathan and Marie DeFantome. For most of his early life, Louis remembers being happy but, other than his twin, a little bit lonely. His parents were usually busy at work (Jonathan being a skilled surgeon and Marie doing some sort of work in Engineering) which meant that their sons were watched by an endless parade of different babysitters -- since neither Jonathan nor Marie were close to their families any more. Life would change for him when he was eleven years old, staying over at his friend Alicia's house for the night with his twin when the three of them found an old Oujia board and several other ~occult~ items in a painted over door in the basement. Being curious preteens, they immediately set out to play with the board and, unluckily for them, something was lingering very close that was very angry. Louis ended up becoming bound to this vengeful spirit, though exactly how, neither he nor his brother know. At first, it showed up rarely -- only a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye, or something standing beside him in a storefront window, disappearing with the passing of a car on the road... But over time, it began to have more and more of an influence on his life and started to physically manifest. By the time Louis was sixteen, it was regularly causing him to get into accidents and interfering with his ability to do schoolwork. On top of this, at the age of twelve, Louis's family would move from the suburb of Montreal he had lived in all his life to the city of Santa Marta in California. The move, it seemed, was too much for Louis's twin who had a sudden and dramatic mental breakdown, leading to the then thirteen year old being interred in a psychiatric institution for both the summer and the first two months of their first school year in Santa Marta. Highschool wasn't particualrly difficult for Louis, other than the problems with the angry spirit attached to him and the ocassional bullying based on his decidedly alternative style, open bisexuality and prematurely gray hair. He made friends easily with those who were on the fringes of highschool society and had a pretty active social life... Despite that, Louis wasn't able to stay out of trouble -- getting into fights with any and every bigot, bully and douchebag in the school. Especially those who tried to pick on his twin. Due to this, Louis ended up getting expelled at the age of 17, getting his HSED a year later. Louis moved out of his parents' house at twenty after making sure his citizenship was secured and started trying to make a living doing what he loved: art. Well, art and video games. He managed to secure regular places in several art galleries around Santa Marta and even sold a few pieces for a decent amount of money to... Particularly strange buyers. But all in all, he's still struggling to make ends meet and usually works as bar back and sometimes filling in other roles at a local goth and alternative club. |
